We've have had a lot of oranges in our Bountiful Baskets lately.
Too many for us to eat before our next basket, in which we always seem to get a citrus fruit. So, today we borrowed a juicer from a friend and decided to make fresh squeezed O.J.!
{ By the way---totally going to get a juicer at the thrift store, I see them there all the time for like .50 cents--a great investment indeed! }
First things first, cut all oranges in half.
First things first, cut all oranges in half.
Next, get to juicin'! Colton was a great helper and squeezed until the last drop came out---none went to waste!
Now this is what you call FRESH ORANGE JUICE!
I'm not one to like pulp in my orange juice, so I put a strainer on the top of the pitcher and poured the juice into that so that it would be pulp free.
NOW---THE BONUS!!
I found a pin on Pinterest the other day about a homemade household cleaner using orange peels and vinegar. Simple right? It's not very often that I have about 30 peels laying around, so I thought this would be a perfect time to try it out!
Here's the pin:
Easy as that! Vinegar and a jar full of orange peels. I will let you know how it works! I'm a HUGE vinegar user for household cleaning anyways, so I probably will love it.
