Random August-type stuff

August? What!? Where did the other months go---you know, summer!!?

This will be our busiest month, lots going on...pictures to follow of course! But for now--these pictures to tempt your taste buds ;)
We went to Rancho Veijo in Couer D'Alene last week after Silverwood.  Along with salsa, they served this A-MAZ-ING pico.  It was to die for!  It had cabbage, onion, tomatoes, cilantro, jalepenos, and black pepper.  OH SO TASTY!!

Bad boys, bad boys.  Whatcha gonna do, Whatcha gonna do when they come for you!
Dream come true---Park talks about wanting to be a police when he grows up :)

We went to the local police in the community day at Target last night.  The kids got to ride the police motorcycle.  Colton loved it.  Intesnse.

The backside of our house--after siding and painting the wood beams under the top story.  HUGE improvement!!!
Colton holding a huge carrot from our garden.  It tasted SO good...with a little dirt leftover on it :)
Some MexiCali peppers from the garden.  They're comin' along!  Just in time for Salsa Sunday!!
I'm so thankful that I did, and continue to make scrapbooks.  I saw the boys on their table outside with 8--count them, 8! scrapbooks that they were looking through.  They were MORTIFIED that they EVER wore diapers!!!
Copacabana pepper from the garden.
We went to the local city pool this week.  The weather was actually perfectly overcast!
We were almost the ONLY people at the pool for like an hour!!

You can add "professional grasshopper catcher" to his resume :)
(CHECK OUT THE BLACKBERRY BUSHES BEHIND HIM!!  WE HAVE SO MANY BLACKBERRIES!)

{silverwood}

We spent Wednesday at silverwood with our friends, the West's. Parker's friends with their little boy Asher. And I met Laura through the coffee stand that I go to.
It was a perfect day! The weather was warm, the breeze was light and the time spent together was wonderful.
I even had to pull up my big girl pants and "let" Parker go on the log ride BY HIMSELF. Huge moment for the both of us...me letting go a little and him gaining a sense of independence.
We spent most of our time riding the waves in the water park and catching some serious sun :)
Colton even found a dollar while swimming....!!!

Whirlwind weekend!

Wow! Talk about going NONSTOP at 100mph...whew!!!
Wednesday we started off by visiting the local library to see a martial arts demonstration. The boys were GLUED to the boys that were showing the moves and weapons associated with karate. At the end of the session the boys both got to break boards in half with their bare hands!! Talk about a true test of "manhood"...they each got about an inch taller that afternoon :)
Next day we hung out with Pierce and Aubrey (Montana cousins) and went to the morning movie at the theater. Popcorn and licorice for breakfast was the best!!!
On Saturday we met my parents at Ft. Spokane public beach and spent 7 hours swimming and soaking up the sun. The kids are LOVING the water now that they can actually swim!!!
On Sunday we spent the day at Couer D'Alene lake on the beach and again swam and soaked up the sun.
As I uploaded pictures for this post I also found some "I stole your phone and took funny pictures" compliments of Parker. Apparently they dressed the dogs up in an empty dog food bag and thought it was funny enough to be picture worthy :)

Swimming!!!

What little athletic studs. Went into swim lessons a week and a half ago and could barely keep afloat.
Today--the both swam the LONG length of the pool! Without any help!
Proud mom moment #734. :)

Hoopfest < Day 1>

First time ever that Aaron has played with his brothers! So fun to watch them!
They won both games and are done for day one! Easy!!
The cousins are in town for hoopfest (Adam is Aaron's brother, 29).
The kids did push ups with the Marines and we stopped for ice cream on the way home.
Hannah and I managed to get our yearly "hoopfest photo" in :) and we for one with all of the "girls" in the cheering squad.
