[Memorial Weekend with cousins]

I always enjoy Memorial weekend...always a time that we spend together as a family and kind of the "kick off" to summer activities.

Unfortunately Aaron had to work over this holiday weekend, he had to meet a deadline for a landscape project and had to work all weekend to finish in time in order not to be fined $100/day thereafter...

Fortunately, we were surprised by our "Montana family" as they came to visit for the weekend. The kids had a blast!!

Here is a weekend in review "in pictures":

Colton and Aubrey enjoy a Mac 'n Cheese picnic lunch

The boys and I spent some time at the park Sunday night...playing on toys and "exploring" the historic fireplance there....

They loved to play out in the woods and be "fighter guys"

I found a can of hairspray paint and made them "OFFICIAL FOREST WARRIORS"
Don't they look intimidating!?
MMM!!  Gramma made everyone root beer floats for a treat!!!

Uncle Josh made a TEEPEE!!  How cool!!  The kids had a pizza dinner in the teepee and pretended they were indian fighters!

What!? Another one!?

As we were driving downtown to the Lilac Parade this past weekend we hear in the backseat, "OHMYGOSH! I just pulled my tooth out!!!"
I think Parker was as shocked as we were...!
He kept saying, "OHMYGOSH I can't stop THINKING about what just happened!" and "We were, like, just driving in 'the middle of nowhere' and I just, like, pulled my 7th tooth out!!"
He had the funniest sayings about this!!
He sure is getting brave about pulling his own teeth out...we only pulled the first 2 and he's done the rest. He seriously looks like he can't eat or talk...both which are presenting their own challenges ;)
Here he is! Mr. Toothless, himself!!

Aww! Thanks Colton!

Colton spent quite awhile today picking fresh 'flowers' for me today. Isn't he the sweetest!?

Happy 32nd birthday Mom!!

May 16, 2012. Krista, I, mom turned the big 3-2. Honestly, I still feel like I'm 22..and really thankful for that! Funny, the pants I am wearing today, I was actually wearing when I was 22 (I have proof of a photo at my sister in laws bridal shower) :)
We aren't big birthday celebrators...we went to Costco to do some shopping, and out to dinner to our favorite Mexican restaurant and finished of the evening with our favorite treat---blizzards from dairy queen!
My birthday present was my yearly trip down to Utah to see my sister (will be going in August) and Aaron and the boys got me a new propane patio heater. I'm seriously loving it---it lets off so much heat and it's great at night for atmosphere! I used it when I had a party the other night outside and was so thankful I had it!
So---to end---32 is great. Age is merely a number---and I love love love my family and am happy that they get to celebrate with me each year---THAT in itself is truly a gift.

The Garden <so far>

The garden is growing! Last year was kind of my experimental year and learned what and what didn't do well and also what we "really ate" and utilized. So this year I planted accordingly. I have 3 beds plus a big culvert planter that Aaron used for the home show earlier in the year.
I have lots of lettuce, oodles of sugar peas, tons of spinach, onions and carrots. I have some herbs and chives and will be planting more here in about a week.
My plan is to preserve as much as possible and also for the use of our salsa Sunday we do each fall at Aaron's moms house.
Things are growing! Few more weeks I can harvest the leafy greens and hopefully the spinach!

T-Ball opening day ceremonies

Last Saturday we had the boys' opening day of t-ball ceremonies. This was a pretty big deal...bigger than I had thought. ALL of north Spokane tball, coach pitch, and older teams were there. Even Otto from the Spokane Indians was there :)
The announcer called each team and they all ran out behind their coach onto the field to be introduced. They sang the National Anthem and had some short speeches by the league organizers.
After the introductions were over we headed over to get our team and individual pictures. I snuck in and took one behind the photographer ;)
When pictures were over we drive up to Colbert to play our 2-inning game.
It was such a fun day that I have been anticipating since the kids were babies...SPORTS are here!! YAY!!

{kindergarten} Mother's Day Tea

I was invited by Parker to the Mother's Day Tea at his school with the kindergarten classes. They worked so very hard the past month to prepare songs, poems, crafts, and desserts to make us Mom's feel loved. He had such fun with his close friends Mason and Connor. I am grateful that he can be "him" around his classmates.
He is the sweetest boy and said the nicest things about me in his stories.
I feel so loved and blessed to be his { and Colton's} mom on this special day.

A night at Manito Park

Today was beautiful! Aaron called and suggested we grab some Panda Express and meet up at Manito park. This is quickly becoming one of our favorite parks because of the many places and trails to walk and the beautiful flower gardens to stroll through. One of our favorite gardens is the Japanese Gardens. There are HUGE koy fish in the pond that practically swim up to your hands.
The perennial garden was just starting to perk up---I found some BEAUTIFUL yellow flowers in bloom that were so vibrant, the picture doesn't do them justice. The phlox covered rock wall was also gorgeous.
